For the third in our case study series, we take a look at what it’s like to use an event app for a new event. We talked to Tarsh Gardiner, Manager of Bankwest’s Graduate Program. Bankwest wanted an interactive event app solution to support a new week-long event.
Q. Hi Tarsh, why did you want to use an event app for your event?
We were running our first graduate orientation week and wanted to do something a bit different. Given the attendee demographic, we thought it would be cool to offer event information in the form of an event app.
Q. What made you choose CrowdComms?
I had used CrowdComms’ mobile event app as a user at conferences and really liked it. We also found it was cheaper than what we had used previously within the bank.
Q. We’re glad you had a positive experience with the app. How did your attendees respond?
The grads liked the event app. Given our attendees were young and digitally savvy, they assumed that information would be made available on some sort of digital platform. It was good to be able to meet their expectations.
Q. For event organisers using the app for the first time, ease of use is particularly important. How did the CrowdComms’ event app perform?
The app is really easy to use. Updates are simple and the set-up is easy to manage. We obtained some really useful qualitative data after the event, something we would look forward to for next time when we make better use of additional features, like polling.
Q. Are there any other features that particularly stand out for you?
I loved being able to have different tracks! For the first two days all the grads had the same experience. But after that, they spilt into groups and did different activities. Showing these as different tracks in the app was excellent, it made it so easy to organise the various groups.
