Epson Printer Troubleshooting

Media Form Error – Printer detection settings are not correct for the loaded badge stock.  #

  1. Open the windows printer settings 
  1. Make sure the correct stock is selected 
  1.  Open the printer utility settings 
  1. Ensure the correct detection settings are set (Eco= Continuous Paper, Black Mark 
    Sticky= Die-cut Label, Gap)- note if there is an error on the printer you can’t change this setting. Remove paper and restart printer. 
  1. Go to the Entegy printer settings and select the correct badge type. 
  1. Feed paper and ensure cut is correct. Then test print. 
     
     

Eco Stock not cutting in correct place – Most likely paper has been fed the wrong way around.   #

  • Ensure black mark is face down, and first part of the badge to enter the printer. 
     
     

Printing blank badge after each printed badge – Badge length is too long.  #

  1. Open the windows printer settings 
  1. Edit Media Definition for selected badge 
  1. Shorten badge by 0.5mm 
  1. Test print 
  1. Repeat process until no longer printing blank badge 
     
     

Error 71  #

  1. Power off kiosk.  
  1. Remove badge stock.  
  1. Make sure front door is closed.  
  1. Power on kiosk.  
  1. Wait for it to finish “initializing” and any head maintenance.  
  1. When it says “Paper out”, feed the paper in the back WITHOUT opening the front door.
