The UK Stroke Association, a distinguished charity, is committed to aiding stroke survivors and their carers through specialised support, impactful research, and extensive information on the illness. The Stroke Association engage in fundraising and advocate for those affected by stroke and their families, empowering them to rebuild their lives.

In December 2023, the Stroke Association partnered with CrowdComms to organise the UK Stroke Forum. This annual conference stands as the UK’s most significant and largest multidisciplinary gathering of stroke care professionals, offering a vital platform for interaction and collaboration. The forum’s mission is to create a space where professionals and researchers in stroke care can exchange knowledge, innovation ideas, and best practices, all with the shared goal of enhancing the quality of care for stroke survivors.

EVENT GOALS

  • Event App Utilisation: the event boasted an impressive 85% adoption rate for the dedicated Event App, demonstrating its
    effectiveness and user-friendly nature.
  • Record-Breaking Attendance: The UK Stroke Forum experienced its highest attendance to date, with 1,800 professionals
    joining the event, surpassing the pre-COVID figure of 1,400.
  • Exhibitor Expansion: the Forum this year saw a substantial increase in exhibitor interest and attendance.
  • Lead Generation Success: a total of 2,735 leads were captured during the event, facilitating valuable connections and
    potential collaborations.

CHALLENGES

  • Budget Constraints: as a charity, the Stroke Association needed to minimise expenses while maximising the impact of the event
  • Delegate Management: managing the large volume of delegates on site with registration and badging presented a logistical challenge.
  • Surpassing Expected numbers: the event had to adapt to a higher than anticipated increase in delegate numbers, which require scalable solutions.
  • Exhibitor Support: providing exhibitors with the right tools and support to capture leads was essential, ensuring they could fully benefit from their participation.

SOLUTION

  • Event App: the bespoke Event App was central to the conference’s success, providing attendees with a seamless and interactive experience.
  • Onsite Registrations and Badging: efficient onsite registration and immediate badge printing systems were implemented to handle the increased volume of attendees.
  • Max Kiosks: nine Max kiosks were strategically placed to assist with registration, information dissemination, and lead capture.
  • Lead Capture Enhancement: the event prioritised enabling exhibitors to effective capture leads, offering necessary support to ensure their success.

CONCLUSION

The collaboration between the UK Stroke Association and CrowdComms in hosting the UK Stroke Forum was a resounding success. This year’s conference saw the highest attendance ever, achieved an impressive 85% using the new Event App, and witnessed a significant surge in exhibitor engagement.

The strategic implementation of technology, including the Event App, onsite registration, badge printing, and Max Kiosks, along with the exceptional onsite support team facilitated a seamless experience. The lead capture process was refined, resulting in a remarkable number of connections, showcasing the forum’s dynamic environment.
