The event planner’s calendar is filled with events of opportunities to connect with industry peers and capture the pulse of event professionals, such as The Meetings Show, held last week at ExCeL London.  

This annual exhibition is a must-attend for those passionate about events. For CrowdComms, participating in this year’s show was an exceptional experience, rich with meaningful interactions and insightful connections. 

The Human Element in Technology 

One of the standouts for us was Matt’s talk on the preconceptions surrounding event technology. In an era where digital solutions are often viewed as impersonal, Matt’s insights highlighted the contrary. He argued that technology, far from being a barrier, can enhance human interaction when used thoughtfully. 

At CrowdComms, our mission is to create tech solutions that bring people closer, not push them apart. Whether it’s through seamless event apps or interactive event platforms, the goal is always to foster genuine connections.  

The balance between technology and human touch was a recurring theme throughout the show, reminding us that the essence of any event is the people who attend it.

Memorable Moments 

The Meetings Show offered no shortage of memorable moments. One vivid highlight was the pizza on the bus with our hosted buyers. It wasn’t just about sharing a meal; it was a celebration of camaraderie and shared experiences in a relaxed setting, away from the trade show floor.  

In an age of emails and Zoom calls, there’s something irreplaceable about sitting across from someone, sharing stories, and building rapport. It’s these casual conversations or magical moments of face-to-face interaction that we thrive on and reminds us of the value of personal connections in business. It’s great that we were able to bring so many people together from The Meetings Show to join us for the evening.

The Power of Exhibiting 

Having a busy exhibition stand was another testament to the power of physical presence.  

Engaging with a diverse audience, demonstrating our products, and answering questions in real-time (did you take our athletics quiz?) provided invaluable insights. It’s one thing to talk about our offerings in a marketing email, but it’s another to see the excitement in someone’s eyes as they experience our fast and efficient badge printing solutions firsthand. 

Exhibiting at The Meetings Show underscored the unique opportunities for networking and brand visibility that such events offer. We not only showcased our latest innovations but also listened to the needs and challenges of our audience. This two-way interaction is pivotal for growth and improvement, and it’s something that virtual interactions can rarely replicate.
